A note on retirement

Decentral announced the retirement of Jaxx Liberty in March 2023, with normal operations ending on March 27 of that year. The company’s published guidance explained that the app would stop providing dependable transaction functionality, and that balances displayed by the retired service might no longer be current. An app icon or an old installation on a device does not mean the service is still supported.

For former users, this distinction is important: cryptocurrency is recorded on its underlying blockchain, rather than stored inside the wallet app itself. A wallet interface provides a way to interact with addresses and sign transactions. If you still have a recovery phrase, protect it carefully and consult the original publisher’s historical guidance before considering any next step. Never paste a phrase into an unfamiliar website or send it to someone claiming they can “unlock” funds for you.
